My journey
For over 20 years, I have dedicated my career to working with children and families through the joys and struggles of family life. My career began as a support worker for vulnerable children, then onto a youth coach, followed by a 10-year career in Social Work. During the pandemic, I re-evaluated my ‘why’ and qualified with a Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching, and I am now also a certified parent coach. My motivation for this career change involved my ‘why’- to support families to feel calm, confident and connected, and my belief that there is a gap in the support available to empower the whole family. With the mental health pandemic that our young generation are experiencing, and the pressures of parenthood, coaching can be the bridge that some families need to build confidence, a thriving mindset, and emotional intelligence, to leave them feeling empowered, mentally strong and connected.
As a teen, I personally struggled with low self esteem, little confidence and anxiety, and I believe if I had had this support, it would have made a world of difference, giving me a stronger foundation in life. My lived experience gives me the empathy and understanding to authentically support children and teens. I am also a mum of 2 so I have the mix of professional and lived experience of family life which shapes my unique style of therapeutic, empathetic and compassionate coaching, giving me insight into what families really need to thrive.
Along with the extensive list of qualifications that I have listed below, I am fully PVG checked and have up-to-date Child Protection training. I am also a Mental Health Ambassador through Place2Be - the leading mental health charity for children and a volunteer youth coach for the organisation ‘Yes Futures’ who work within schools.
